Name:

My name is Mar and this is my blog and podcast. This blog and podcast are being created for all the people who have problems. We have all been through bad experiences. Many of us have had those nights where you just wish tomorrow would never come because you cannot face the problems. I have been blessed to have a wonderful family and friends who came to my aid at times like that, I would like to be able to be someone you can count on to listen to you when things are getting to be too much. I have been there and I know how you feel. I am confident that many others will find this site and join in to encourage you to choose hope and not let despair win. Please feel free to share your worries with me. I cannot solve your problems but I can listen, I can encourage you and I can pray for you. Let us take this journey together and please Choose Hope Now. You never know what tomorrow will bring. God Bless. Thank you for visiting Choose Hope Now. Please listen to the First Podcast (October 2006)if you are interested in learning why I started this blog.

That Man is a Success (Robert Louis Stevenson)

That Man is a Success

Who has lived well,
laughed often and loved much;
Who has gained the respect
of intelligent men and the love of children;
Who has filled his niche
and accomplished his task;
Who leaves the world better than he found it,
whether by an improved poppy or a perfect poem or a rescued soul;
Who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty
or failed to express it;
Who looked for the best in others
and gave the best he had.

Robert Louis Stevenson

I totally understand the not wanting tomorrow to come because I don't want to face the worries. My family is so broken apart right now and I feel like it is killing me. As a wife and mother, all I ever wanted was a close family. What my reality is a group of people who would rather fight and pick each other apart than love one another. I just want to give up I am so tired by it all, but I am too strong for that. I just don't know what path to take. My whole life, my mission has been this family. How do I stop letting family be the most important thing to me and move on? Thank you, Kym

Navymomkym,

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner, with the holidays things got pretty busy. I would say that the only person you can try to make happy is yourself. Start working on you ...and maybe your family may follow suit. First look for all the things you are grateful for in your life (make a list)...gratitude tends to wake us up, puts life in perspective. Then, everyday do one thing for someone else and that will make you a feel better. Also, take the time each day to show gratitude toward others and they will respond to that (it may take a while but even your family will respond). Spend time with friends that will listen to you and everyday (this is very important)take time to laugh both at yourself, and by reading a book, or watching television or a movie ..anything that will make you really smile and laugh. The old saying that laughter is the best medicine really is true. And if you want others to feel the love you have for them you have to love yourself first. You have probably put family first for so long that you forgot about yourself. In a sense you will be giving yourself a makeover because all the new energy in your home will come from you, and that light from you will become spead. And if you are a believer, a prayer each day for guidance, strength and gratitude would help. Thanks for your comment, I hope 2012 brings peace and joy back into your life. Anytime you need an ear to listen feel free to comment or email. Take care and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
